Holiday World

We took a surprise trip to Holiday World today!  Last night, my aunt called and said she had some free tickets to Holiday World.  We didn't have any big plans for today, so it was perfect timing to take a day trip to Holiday World.  We knew the lines would be shorter at this time of the year, so we opted to take Isaac for his first trip.  We had a great time until a storm rolled in and closed the rides down for a few hours.  At that point, we were ready to leave for the day.  As we exited they gave us storm passes, so now we have another set of tickets to go again later this summer.  

New Car!

Justin came home in this beauty today!  

Justin got this 2000 Cavalier when he graduated from university.  He moved from New Brunswick, Canada to Evansville, Indiana with all of his possessions in it!  When we had kids, I figured we'd have to get a 4 door car.  However, we kept finding ways to make everyone fit.  This car was a good one; she will be missed.

Life Lately

After our dance competition, we took the girls to IKEA for the first time.  

While we were at the competition, Isaac and Justin spent the day at the BBQ festival in Owensboro with the Viekes.  Cami sent me this picture of Isaac, and it made me smile.  

We've had lots of outdoor fun lately!  The kids love to play with the many frogs we find.

Ava's class was in charge of Mass recently, and she read one of the petitions.  

Mother's Day 2017

My day started with the kids and Justin making and serving me breakfast.  The kids were so excited to give me the special gifts they.  We didn't have anything planned for the afternoon, and it was nice to just be able to spur-of-the-minute get together for lunch with my mom, grandma, aunt, and cousins.   Afterwards, we took the kids to the pool for their first swim of the season, and then had supper with my mom.  It was a great day!

Nexstar Dance Competition

The girls had a terrific day at their dance competition.  Both girls did great!  Each of their groups got 1st in their divisions and high golds.  Alayna's group "Gettin' Better Boogie" placed 4th overall in large groups 8 and under and her production group "Legally Blonde" got 1st in their division, 1st overall for productions, a platinum rating, a bid to nationals, and regional champs (voted best out of about 100 dances).  

Zoo Day with Isaac

My favorite little guy and I took a trip to the zoo this morning.  We walked the entire zoo, and he had so many stories to tell me.  After we saw an animal, he'd run off to look for the next one.  He was so excited to see them ALL, and he loved playing on the playground too.

Many months ago when Justin found out Dave and Tim would be touring this Spring, he started making plans for us to attend our third Dave concert in 3 years.  The Viekes joined us for a weekend away in Nashville, and as always, we had an awesome time.
